Brahim Diaz opened the scoring with an outside-of-the-boost finish inside the penalty area from Jude Bellingham’s assist. The Visitors snatched an equalizer early in the second half from Stefan Savic but Saul Niguez was found to have impeded Andriy Lunin. But Diego Simeone’s side continued to knock on the door and reaped their reward deep in added time as Marcos Lionrente headed home. Los Blancos now sit just two points clear of Girona at the summit with both clubs having played 23 games this season.
